Decided to practice a bit while watching Sailor Moon S. (Mars’ legs got away from me OOPS)
Their casual outfits can be really cute sometimes, but I’m having a lot of trouble finding one to draw for Venus. A lot of her clothes are just baaad.
I’ll get Mercury and Jupiter cleaned up soon.
This is a young Victorian woman named Ethel.
I don’t quite have her design entirely down yet. I’m trying to keep consistency in the ‘roundness’ of her skirt and sleeves, need to finalize a boot design. The problem I’m having is drawing bigger so I can get her facial details correctly.
Drawing the wing was really fun and I can’t wait to do it again, and correctly.
I’ve been working, but haven’t been updating and/or don’t have anything to show for it yet. Sketching has fallen to the wayside in the wake of a costume project that is due in about two days, and had to be started over at one point. I also need to get my sewing machine looked at for a whine in the motor but the dang thing will have to hold out until that can be done.
Until I am in a position to post some finished product for the costume I will post in-progress shots for a couple other projects.
The good news is that I can feel my creativity slowly working its way back. I can actually see myself completing projects unafraid for the first time in my life.
The bad news is this heat wave has been taking a toll on my overall health, and with how hard I’m pushing myself to complete the costume it has come down to pain and tears (and progress!). Even the cats are constantly melty.
